Ieri ho scritto un post sulla sicurezza dei cms, oggi ne scrivo un'altro sulla sicurezza relativa al deposito dei files di backup del sito.
Da qualche tempo ho iniziato nuovamente a perdere qualche ora al giorno dietro le statistiche dei siti e devo dire che è una bella scuola. Infatti dalle informazioni rilevabili dagli useragent dei visitatori e delle pagine consultate, possono saltare fuori delle informazioni interessanti e un piccolo spunto per un post.
Chi effettua i backup sà che molto spesso viene assegnato un nome mnemonico ossia che possa essere facilmente ricordato e visto in mezzo ai files presenti. Attenzione però a non assegnare nomi troppo semplici ai file di backup.
Proprio ieri notte un'utente ha provato per oltre 100 volte a trovare il file di backup del sito. E questa è la dimostrazione che molto spesso la falla di sicurezza è rappresentata proprio dall'utente.
Chiaramente vi lascio immagininare cosa potrebbe accadere se un'utente scaricasse il backup del sito e al suo interno potesse trovare il file config con le username e password di accesso al database. Bingo!
